Today has been one of the best days I've had in a long time. Things could not have gone more in my favor today as I continued to be blessed with so many wonderful answered prayers. Here's a recap...
1. We had another successful doctor's appointment today. We started out with an ultrasound that reassured us that our little angel was absolutely perfect and growing right on cue. Her measurements were right where they are supposed to be, she had a strong and healthy heartbeat, and she cooperated for the Ultrasound Tech the whole time. I am still just so amazed at how awesome God is to be able to have his hand in creating the beautiful life growing in my belly.
2. I had a surprise afternoon visit at the bank from one of my favorite handsome little boys, Brooks Lensing. He came in with his Nana and Pawpaw to do a little afternoon banking. As many of you know, he is the son of Angela Lensing from Cross My Art Designs. Talk about one amazing woman!!! Brooks lit up my world this afternoon and reminded me of how anxious I am to have Miss Ivy here.
3. Speaking of Angela, while I was hanging some picture frames this afternoon that she hand-painted for Ivy's nursery I got a text message from Carmen Geoates with Keep It Gypsy telling me that my baby bedding WAS FINISHED!!!!!!!!! I literally started squealing with excitement! So much excitement that she even brought it over tonight and put it all together for me. How AWESOME is she!!!?? The nursery is just a few tiny pieces away from being complete. Let me take you on a tour of the Queen's palace.....
You have entered the nursery. The painted frame on the wall behind the crib was hand-painted by Angela Lensing with Cross MY Art Designs. The inspiration came from a nursery picture on the Pottery Barn Kids website. Soon there will be 4 large picture frames hanging inside the big frame to complete the look.
How in trouble am I? The poor child doesn't have a thing to wear! :o) Good thing we've got 4 sections of closet to fill up.
LOVE the curtains! Carmen is so talented!!
And what nursery is complete without a flat screen TV? This would be for Daddy so that he never has to miss a K-State ball game while spending every minute with Little Britches. The picture and lamp over the changing table/dresser came from Decor & More here in Fort Smith. I happened upon them one day when I was in there looking for a mantle piece for the den. The colors are perfect!!
I love my little girl pictures. I ran on to these one day while in Inscriptions and thought they would be a perfect addition to the nursery. Did I do good??
This is Ivy's throne. I could NOT be more pleased with how the bedding turned out. How whimsical is this?? The colors turned out perfect!!! The double ruffle on the bumper was inspiration from Kathy Littlefield, better known as "Bella".
This is mommy's throne. When I say this is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in, that would be an understatement. This is my recliner/rocker/swivel/heaven on earth chair. Besides the crib, this might be my favorite purchase!
Love my hand-made pillow that Carmen made. So classy!!
There's our little Sunflower!! Isn't she precious? Yes, this mommy is extremely bias. Frames were painted by Angela Lensing.
Love the fabulous letters the Natalie Bartholomew painted for the nursery. They are a perfect fit!!
How cute is the lamp and nightstand? Carmen took my old lampshade and recovered it with fabric that matches all the bedding and curtains. LOVE!!!!!!! Angela painted this nightstand and armoire that you saw in the closet. Both these pieces went through Dax and Dayne during their college years which makes them even more special to the nursery. For the record, they were not zebra print when the boys had them. :o)
I have not left the nursery since Carmen was here 2 1/2 hours ago. I absolutely LOVE how everything turned out, and now I for sure can't wait to have our little sunflower in here. Only 6 short weeks to go!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, Carmen Geoates and Angela Lensing for helping transform the room into a palace fit for a queen! We couldn't be more pleased!!!
